Why go to Turkey?

In Acts 17:6, enemies of the Gospel complained, “These people who have been turning the world upside down have come here also.” Well, a great portion of that world turned “upside down” is in today’s Turkey! We go to better comprehend how that culture was transformed and their history redirected.

Join Father’s House teacher-hosts John and Roxie Turner, scholar Marc Turnage, and archaeologist Eli Shukron in this “on-site with insight” learning experience. As missional partners with Biblical Expeditions, Father’s House Educational Foundation is all about rebooting your passion for the Scriptures. We take believers and seekers to biblical lands where they encounter the text in context. Every day of your Father’s House expedition will begin with a worshipful focus on God as our ultimate Teacher and a presentation of the biblical theme that day in connection with where you are about to go.

You will stand and study at key historical and biblical locations, validated by the most recent archaeology. Feel the settings with your five senses. Connect the dots of God’s Big Story. Listen as He speaks to you of what was, and is, and is to come. Come away with deeper desire for more!

This expedition is open to anyone from anywhere!

Join us as we use the world of the Bible to help you understand the words of the Bible.

John Turner

Dr. John W. Turner, Jr. has been a pastor-teacher for more than 40 years. Since 2009, in addition to being a pastor, he has also served as Executive Director of Father’s House Educational Foundation (www.fathershousefoundation.com). Through Father’s House, John and Roxie have hosted an average of three to four groups per year to the Holy Land. They are passionate about leading believers from any part of the world to experience God in His land through practical, life-giving lessons at strategic sites. Father’s House visits traditional places, but they also explore fascinating, little-known locations, indicated by recent archaeology. The result is life-changing breakthroughs in your understanding of the Bible.

Father’s House regularly partners with Eli Shukron who for 20 years was chief archaeologist for the City of David in Jerusalem. Eli discovered the Pool of Siloam in 2004 and many other amazing finds. (Google Eli’s name to learn more about him.)

Dr. Turner got his BA from Baylor University, his MDiv from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (now Gateway Seminary), and his DMin from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He has also been associated with the University-Model® School (UMS) movement since its inception in 1993. He is author of the 2001 and 2017 editions of the definitive book explaining the model, “Character Driven College Education.” Today, Dr. Turner is Senior Executive Officer in NAUMS, Inc (www.naumsinc.org), which is the parent corporation of University-Model® Schools International (UMSI).
